The 20-year old premium adult soft drinks producer has grown rapidly over recent years, and has extended its product portfolio to include its award winning cordials, sparkling pressés, sorbets and sorbet lollies all of which are listed with leading retailers such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Morrisons, Tesco and Budgens.
Annual volumes from the production facility at South Woodchester in the Cotswolds are growing year-on-year, and forecast to reach 12.5 million bottles in 2009. Downton will collect product daily, warehouse at its Moreton Valence distribution centre, and then trunk direct to each supermarket’s national distribution hub.
Simon Speers, managing director of Bottlegreen Drinks Company commented: “We are delighted to be working with local logistics firm, Downton this year. They are still very much family run, and we believe their values are in line with the way Bottlegreen conducts its business. As a company, we are always trying to find new ways to improve our green credentials and using a local distribution firm will enable us to save over 30,000 food miles a year.”
Richard Downton, finance director of Downton said: “It’s good to be working with such a successful company, and helping to ensure its continued growth. FMCG is one of our key areas of expertise, and we look forward to supporting the Bottlegreen brand in achieving its sales ambitions.”
