KAYABA’S INAUGURAL GOLF TOURNAMENT TEES-OFF

The final round of the inaugural Kayaba National Golf Tournament has concluded with Ken Myers representing Eric B Miller, Southport as overall winner, and Ian Turner from Abbey Motor Factors in Bury St Edmunds, as runner up. Both have won places on the prestigious four day Component Aftermarket Golf Tournament which takes place in Spain from 10th-14th October.

The grand final was held on the 18 hole Nicklaus Course at Carden Park in Cheshire, a gruelling 72 par course and just over 6,000 yards long.

David Gardiner for Car Spares in Clacton finished in third place, and Trevor Gray of Cafco Automotive, Wokingham in fourth.

The prize for the longest drive was awarded to Ian Carr of Alex E Carr, Hull for a superb drive on the 18th, and Paul Prescott of Shepshed Autos in Shepshed for achieving the shot nearest the pin on the 16th hole.

The two other finalists were Robert Williams, Glaze Autoparts, Wolverhampton and Kevin McNeill, JNK Components, Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

Commented Sue Clough, Customer Service Manager, of Kayaba UK: "It was a great day with intense competition from all the players, and we wish Ken and Ian every success in Spain next month."

A total of four regional heats were held across the country (North West - Appleby, North East - Sheffield, South West - Bristol, South East - Bulphan) with the first two from each heat earning a place in the grand final.
