NAUTILUS STRIDES AHEAD WITH INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS –
NEW PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS IS APPOINTED & RELOCATED TO THE UK
Nautilus Inc, a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of branded health and fitness products, is striding ahead with its international development plans with the appointment of Darryl Thomas as president of international business and relocated him to the UK.
The new appointment positions Nautilus for significant growth in fitness equipment sales outside of the Americas as the company seeks to deepen its market penetration in the commercial and club sectors, along with the retail and direct-to-consumer sectors.
In his new role, Darryl Thomas will have responsibility for supply operations, in addition to sales, marketing and business management functions. Says Darryl: "We have identified a substantial and growing appetite for our high-quality branded fitness equipment in 50 countries around the world, and want to better position Nautilus to address these opportunities."
"Our plans involve further developing our long-standing service to the commercial sector by offering complete lines of high-quality branded fitness equipment. We will also be addressing the growing consumer demand for home fitness training by expanding the availability of our innovative personal fitness products."
Before joining Nautilus, Thomas served in senior marketing and strategic planning positions with Levi Strauss and Company, and as vice president of the Burger King international account team for Coca-Cola where he was responsible for the sale of Coca-Cola products to the company's corporate and franchise operations.
Adds Thomas. "We need to work closely with club leaders and retailers to provide consumers with the tools and education that will help them succeed and keep them motivated. It all begins by creating positive experiences for consumers that will generate enthusiasm and excitement while supporting lifelong fitness training."
Nautilus concentrates on forming mutual relationships with leaders in each fitness sector and providing training, marketing, educational and service support. To date, the company has key relationships in place with commercial clubs and retailers in both Western Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
In addition, Nautilus already works with leading distributors such as Move to Live in the Netherlands, The Fitness Generation in Australia and Elite Fitness in New Zealand. Darryl Thomas is also expecting to add further sales, marketing and operations staff to serve key accounts in the Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
Nautilus is a global leader in fitness, providing strength and cardiovascular equipment and accessories under the Nautilus®, Bowflex®, Stairmaster®, Schwinn®Fitness, and Trimline® brands, and fitness apparel under the Pearl iZUMi® brand.
