NO TIME FOR (RALLY) STAGE FRIGHT
Adrenalin junkies get opportunity of a lifetime to drive in a real rally
Driving and motorsport enthusiasts can now experience the ultimate adrenalin rush of competing in a stage rally thanks to rally experience company, Rally Torque.
Far removed from a typical track or corporate driving day, clients choose their competition vehicle from three championship-winning rally cars: the legendary Ford Escort MK 1, classic Porsche 911 or modern Subaru Impreza WRX, all with 0-60mph acceleration speeds of less than 6.0 seconds.
Learning top driving tips from the experts is included as part of the package, with drivers receiving two full days of one-to-one tuition at a gravel test venue from ‘names’ such as, Mark Higgins, current British Rally Champion. For the actual rally itself, drivers are paired with an expert co-driver, hand-picked and trained by Nicky Grist, Colin McRae’s former World Rally Championship co-driver.
Other essentials include training to obtain the Motorsports Association (MSA) competition licence, a dedicated support team of mechanics and a truckload of spare parts, safety equipment, accommodation, insurance cover and your very own edited DVD with in-car footage to capture the whole experience.
Most rallies are forest-based and held over a weekend in remote areas of Wales, Scotland and the North of England. They are generally between 5-10 stages in length, with a total competitive mileage of between 45 and 70 miles.
