OUCH! RICHMOND VILLAGES RAISES MONEY FOR CLIMB WITH CHARITY CHEST WAX
Fred Allman, events co-ordinator at Richmond Nantwich will do almost anything for charity, even going to the extreme measure of having his chest waxed!
The event took place recently at the care and retirement village in Nantwich where residents were able to ‘have a go’ and pay for a waxing strip, with the money being donated to CLIMB (Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Disease).
Richmond Nantwich supports a different charity each year and this was the final fundraising event for CLIMB. CLIMB aims to fight metabolic diseases through awareness, research and support, and has its headquarters near to Richmond Nantwich in Crewe.
Fred says, “Over the past year we have raised around £700 for CLIMB and everyone at Richmond Nantwich has been very generous by supporting our fundraising events. Many people told me I was a brave man to have my chest waxed, but it was all for a good cause. With the residents joining in it was actually a bit of fun, despite the pain!”
