RECRUITMENT FAIR SUCCESS FOR RICHMOND VILLAGE LETCOMBE REGIS

120 people attend - the majority of positions being filled

A recruitment fair held at the soon to be opened £60 million retirement village at Letcombe Regis, near Wantage, has been hailed a resounding success by managers.

The event – which had to be rescheduled because of the snow - attracted well over 100 people, with the majority of vacancies well on the way to being filled.

Richmond Villages - the village operator and part of the Barchester Healthcare Group - is looking to recruit some 40 full and part time staff initially, and needs people to start work this month, but once fully open will employ between 75 - 100 people.

Said village manager Elisabeth Parker:  “We were really delighted with the attendance, the quality of people who came to see us, and the skills they have. The day far exceeded our expectations.

“The result is that we are now well on the way to having a full complement of staff ready and trained for when our first residents move in.”

The village – which will include a care home providing nursing and dementia care - still has a few unfilled vacancies, and Elisabeth and her team are keen to hear from people looking for work in the following positions:

MP for Wantage and Didcot, Ed Vaizey commented:  “This fantastic new retirement village at Letcombe will provide a welcome boost to employment in South Oxfordshire.  The mix of skills required, and the need for both full and part time employees, will fit well with the local community.”

The purpose-built village is due to open its doors to the first residents in March.
