VALERIE SINGLETON JOINS IN THE CELEBRATIONS AT RICHMOND PAINSWICK,
A NEW RETIREMENT VILLAGE IN THE COTSWOLDS
Richmond Villages, developers and operators of luxury retirement villages throughout the UK, recently marked the completion of Phase One at its striking development in Painswick, Gloucestershire with special guest television and radio presenter Valerie Singleton.
Residents already living at the Richmond Painswick development, local people and prospective buyers were invited to a reception on 11 June. A jazz band played while guests toured the development and viewed the two bedroom show apartment; plans for the next two phases were also on display.
Valerie, best known for her appearances as a Blue Peter presenter, is a Richmond Villages enthusiast. Impressed with the company’s ability to provide beautiful retirement environments with plenty of amenities, a vibrant social life and excellent care facilities Valerie says: “Thanks to the ethos at the heart of every Richmond Village, the idea that life can and does improve with age is more than just a welcome thought, it is a distinct reality. Richmond Painswick is already looking superb; another retirement success story.”
The eye-catching development, which overlooks some of the most panoramic countryside views in the Cotswolds, offers a choice of properties to suit all needs. Regardless of a person’s retirement age, or level of fitness, Richmond Painswick has an option to suit.
Phase One comprises 18 luxury apartments for those who wish to live totally independently. Phase Two, which is due to be completed early next year, is well underway, with this much larger phase providing a care centre with 38 one and two bedroom serviced suites (each with a kitchenette, sitting room and bedroom complete with en suite) and 24 close care bedrooms for those who need 24-hour care.
The facilities at Richmond Painswick will be in a league of their own. Communal areas such as the elegant rooftop garden, which provides spectacular views over two Cotswold valleys, and the Laurie Lee Restaurant (on a par with that of superior hotel) will be a focal point for those who enjoy socialising and taking part in the many activities and events organised by The Friends of Richmond. In addition, a café, shop, library and communal drawing room are sure to be popular meeting areas; a fountain dedicated to the memory of Laurie Lee is soon to be unveiled.
The Wellness Centre, part of Phase Two, is an inspired idea. This will include a spa, located on the lower garden level, with a pool, sauna and steam room; there will also be a fully-equipped gymnasium and studio.
Richmond Villages has an excellent track record across all its developments when it comes to security, offering great peace of mind to residents. At Richmond Painswick, for example, there is both 24 hour staff and CCTV.
Keith Cockell, founder and managing director of Richmond Villages says: “We are fully committed to providing first class retirement villages that offer a wonderful way of life for those who live in them. Our focus is very much on quality, with this evident at every turn, both in the properties themselves and in terms of the support and care we deliver.”
Currently available at Richmond Painswick are two and three bedroom luxury apartments (for those who wish to live independently) with prices from £429,000 to £799,000 and one bedroom serviced suites (for those who require some assistance) priced from £199,000 to £395,000. Prices for close care rooms have yet to be released. The service charge is £80 per week and there are four care packages available, priced from £63.00 to £238.00 per week; packages can be tailored to individual needs.
