RECRUITMENT FAIR SEEKS QUALITY STAFF FOR RICHMOND LETCOMBE REGIS
Retirement village looking to appoint an initial 40 staff by February
Oxfordshire MP, Ed Vaizey welcomes boost to employment
The recruitment fair scheduled to take place earlier in the month at the soon to be opened £60 million retirement village at Letcombe Regis, near Wantage but postponed because of the snow, will now be held on Wednesday 27 January, 10.00am - 6.00pm.
Village operator Richmond Villages, part of the Barchester Healthcare Group, is looking to recruit some 40 full and part time staff initially, and requiring people to start work in February. Once fully occupied, the village will employ between 75 - 100 people.
This first round of recruitment is looking to fill the following positions:
- Spa team, including a manager, beauticians, therapists and trainers
- Carers and nurses
- Chefs and kitchen assistants
- Restaurant manager
- Hostesses
- Housekeepers
- Receptionists
- Activity organisers
- Laundry assistants
- Driver
With a range of full and part-time vacancies, there are opportunities available for all levels of experience from managers through to trainees.
Said Ed Vaizey, MP for Wantage and Didcot, “This fantastic new retirement village at Letcombe will provide a welcome boost to employment in South Oxfordshire. The mix of skills required, and the need for both full and part time employees, will fit well with the local community.
“I have been very impressed with the whole concept of Richmond Letcombe Regis. The variety of homes offered combined with excellent levels of care, services and facilities, provide the over 55s with a great place to live, and will soon be a great place to work, too.”
Elisabeth Parker, Richmond Letcombe’s village manager says: “This is a brand new village so we are looking for people to fill every role. There will be experienced people at the Job Fair, including the Barchester Learning and Development Team, to answer any questions, and we encourage people to come along and learn about the opportunities available.
“My aim is to recruit a motivated, happy and caring team and create a pleasant working atmosphere throughout this important new facility.
“Current Richmond staff will be on hand to discuss the roles, and describe how a care village is so different from an ordinary care home,” she said.
The purpose-built village is due to open its doors to the first residents in March, and the recruitment fair will be held in the Lodge at Richmond Letcombe Regis, South Street, Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire OX12 9JY.
