BLOOMING BONNETS AT RICHMOND COVENTRY

Residents of Richmond Coventry retirement village enjoyed a wonderful afternoon when pupils from All Saints Church of England (Aided) Infant School and Nursery Unit in Bedworth, took time out from lessons to pay them a visit, donned with home made Easter bonnets festooned with flowers, bunnies, chicks and eggs.

The children, aged between six and seven, wowed the elderly with hats of every shape, colour and size and the residents were honoured to act as judges of the best bonnet.  The pupils also entertained residents with a variety of Easter poems and hymns.

Louise Thompson, village manager said: “The residents' faces lit up when they saw the pupils in their bright and beautiful Easter bonnets and we all loved hearing them sing.  Having children around always livens the atmosphere and it brings the residents great pleasure.”

This is the second time the school has visited the retirement village, as pupils staged a nativity play for residents last Christmas.  Mark Ingham, head teacher at the school said: “The children had great fun making the bonnets - and it gave them a chance to show off their artistic flair and express what Easter means to them.   They also gain a lot from meeting members of the local community, so we are keen to develop our relationship with Richmond Coventry.”

Richmond Coventry is located on the outskirts of Bedworth and offers a range of luxury homes including apartments, serviced apartments and care bedrooms, providing residents with different levels of independence to suit all needs.  With its own bowling green and landscaped gardens, the residents can enjoy peace, security and a sense of community, as well as superb facilities including a restaurant, shop and hair and beauty salon.
