RICHMOND VILLAGES STAGES PUBLIC CONSULTATION MEETING IN MAIDENCOMBE
Richmond Villages, which develops and operates premium quality retirement villages in the UK, has held a public consultation meeting to present the plans for its latest development near Torquay.
The meeting took place at Orestone Manor at Maidencombe, when some 70 local residents came to learn more about what is being planned, and to discuss the details with the directors of Richmond Villages.
The luxury development proposed for Sladnor Park will comprise semi-assisted living apartments, assisted living apartments and a nursing home, but unlike usual care homes will also comprise first class features such as a wellness spa, gymnasium, treatment rooms, a swimming pool and wonderful restaurant for residents and their friends and family. Other features will include a library/IT suite and hairdressing salon, and superb gardens with magnificent views over the sea.
Commented Keith Cockell, managing director of Richmond Villages: “We were delighted to see so many local people showing such a keen interest in what we are proposing.
“It was an extremely positive meeting. We had good discussions, some sensible suggestions were put forward, and hopefully we were able to allay any concerns that those living close to Sladnor Park might have had.”
Richmond Villages currently operates four villages around the UK including Nantwich in Cheshire and Coventry. Its newest village at Painswick in Gloucestershire opened a few weeks ago and has already won two prestigious awards, the What House? Award for best retirement development, and a Daily Mail UK Property Award.
The company’s next luxury retirement village opens in Northampton shortly, and building work at Sladnor Park is scheduled to commence during summer 2008 with completion towards the end of 2010.
