Richmond retirement village in Coventry, is opening its doors to the public on Sunday 6 July, between 10am - 4pm, offering visitors an opportunity to see the future of retirement living.
Richmond Villages has created a number of caring communities for older people around the country, and with more in the pipeline, is developing a whole new concept in retirement living. All the villages – including Richmond Coventry – are a far cry from the conventional image of a retirement home, which perhaps has negative connotations. These purpose built homes, which offer high quality care and luxurious accommodation, are a much awaited alternative to the 'norm'.

Visitors to Richmond Coventry, which has recently undergone a £5.4 million refurbishment, will be able to see for themselves the deluxe, one bedroom serviced apartments. Living in a serviced apartment allows residents to maintain their independence by owning the property and having their own front door, but they can relax knowing that all daily chores such as cooking, cleaning and laundry are taken care of. ‘Assisted living’ includes all meals and drinks, and residents have free use of all village facilities, yet still enjoy the privacy of their own ‘home’.
Each has its own sitting room, galley kitchen, double bedroom and ensuite shower or bathroom, and is appointed with sumptuous carpets and décor throughout, as well as high quality fixtures and fittings.
Visitors will also have the chance to view a number of care bedrooms in the state-of-the art nursing home, which can provide 24 hour care by qualified, experienced staff.
With its own meticulous bowling green and landscaped gardens, the residents can enjoy peace, security and a sense of community, as well as superb facilities including restaurants, lounges, cafe, shop and hair and beauty salon, all set in beautiful surroundings.
