RETIRING IN STYLE!

THE FIRST RESIDENTS SETTLE IN AT RICHMOND PAINSWICK, A NEW LUXURY RETIREMENT VILLAGE IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE

·             Sales suite opening hours extended to 10am – 4pm, seven days a week

The first residents are settling into their new homes at Richmond Painswick, a striking retirement village in the Cotswolds where luxury living is high on the agenda.

The development, located on the edge of Painswick in Gloucestershire and overlooking some of the most beautiful countryside in the region, is being built and operated by Richmond Villages.

Richmond Painswick comprises a collection of imaginatively designed Cotswold stone properties that offer a variety of living solutions, and an impressive range of health and leisure facilities.

Mrs Pauline Foreman, a Painswick resident for over 50 years, was one of the first people to move in at Richmond Painswick.  She commented: “I wanted to stay in Painswick and visited one of Richmond Villages’ other developments in Cheshire to see what it was like.  I was so impressed I put my name on the waiting list long before building had started.  I really don’t think retirement living could get much better than this!”

Another local couple who have just moved into the retirement village are Mr and Mrs Otway.  Mrs Otway says: “We’ve moved in at a stage in our lives when we’re still able to enjoy a full and active social life.  We’ve carried on exactly the same as before, going to the same clubs and meeting with the same friends, but safe in the knowledge that the care is there if and when we need it.  We’re very much looking forward to getting to know other new residents as they move in.”

Keith Cockell, founder and managing director of Richmond Villages says: “We are fully committed to providing high quality retirement villages that offer a wonderful way of life for those who live in them.  We are delighted to welcome the first residents at Richmond Painswick, where new friendships are being made as this vibrant community grows.”

Phase one, which is now complete, includes 18 luxury village apartments.  These are ideal for people aged 50 plus who are independent and active – and possibly not yet retired – who like the idea that they need never move again.  The apartments are also suitable for those who wish to travel or spend time abroad and who want to feel secure in the knowledge that their property will be well looked after while they are away.

Phase two, which is due to be completed early next year, will include 38 one and two bedroom serviced apartments, each with a kitchenette, sitting room and bedroom with en-suite, plus 24 close care bedrooms for those who need 24-hour care.

The facilities at Richmond Painswick are on a par with those of a superior hotel and will include an elegant drawing room and restaurant; a café, shop and rooftop garden; a ‘wellness centre’ featuring a spa, pool, sauna and steam room, plus a fully-equipped gymnasium and studio.

Nine phase one properties are still available, priced from £435,000 for two and three bedroom luxury village apartments.  Prices for properties in phase two range from £199,000 for a one bedroom serviced apartment.  Care packages can also be tailored to meet individual needs.
