RICHMOND VILLAGES WINS HIGHLY PRESTIGIOUS PROPERTY AWARD
The organisers of this year’s Daily Mail UK Property Awards have informed Richmond Villages that it is to receive an award for its new retirement village in Painswick, Gloucestershire.
The award is within the retirement development category, and full details will be revealed at the official awards dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Friday, 5 October.
A panel of professionals from across the property world judged the entries. Chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State, this year’s panel included Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of the National House Building Council; Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents; and Phil Spencer, property expert and presenter of Channel 4’s Location and Relocation TV programmes.
Keith Cockell, managing director of Richmond Villages, and the mastermind behind the design of the Painswick retirement village said: “Naturally, we are all highly delighted, and look forward to getting full details of the award in the autumn.
“The design and construction of this development has been a considerable challenge, not least because we needed to ensure that it blended subtly with the vernacular of Painswick, itself a quintessential Cotswold village. We had to meet a number of very strict planning and conservation requirements, while also ensuring we provided the highest quality of care and leisure facilities for our residents.”
This announcement comes shortly before the opening of the village centre this month, which includes a spa and wellness centre, boutique 24 bed registered nursing home, serviced suites and restaurants. This development completes the facilities and accommodation at Painswick.
