BLOOMING MARVELLOUS!
Richmond Villages Takes Gold For 3rd Consecutive Year In ‘Nantwich In Bloom’ Awards

Richmond Nantwich retirement village has been awarded the prestigious gold award for the third year running in this year’s Nantwich in Bloom awards.

The gardens at Richmond Nantwich retirement village impressed the judges (including Margaret Thrower, daughter of the popular television gardener, the late Percy Thrower) and were commended in the commercial category of the awards.

Head gardener at Richmond Nantwich, Jonathan Basford says: “We are delighted to have won gold again this year.  It takes a lot of hard work to keep the 2.5 acres of grounds and individual gardens looking their best, as well as keeping our bowling green immaculate.

“It is great to win awards but we also take enormous pleasure from providing our residents and visitors with beautiful surroundings and feel it is important everyone has well-tended gardens to admire.”

The village gardens are also entered into this year’s North-West in Bloom competition which is part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘Britain in Bloom’.  The results will be announced later in the year, and Jonathan Basford is hoping to emulate last year’s success when the village won ‘Outstanding in the Neighbourhood’ Award.
