HIGH QUALITY NURSING CARE HOME OPENS AT COTSWOLD RETIREMENT VILLAGE
A high quality nursing home with just 24 beds is now open at Richmond Painswick retirement village.
Unlike standard care homes, which can have anything from 60 to over 100 beds, Richmond Villages offers an exceptional level of dedicated personal care, with specialist staff on hand to provide nursing care 24 hours a day.
A team of fully qualified nurses are thoroughly trained in all aspects of elderly care ranging from personal to palliative care. Additionally, rigorous training and on-going supervision is utilised to ensure high standards are maintained.
The spacious care bedrooms are well appointed with comfortable and stylish furniture, and feature an easy access en-suite shower room. State-of-the-art equipment including an electric profiling bed is provided, ensuring residents are comfortable day and night, and for peace of mind each room is fitted with a personal alarm system.
Village manager Susie Oakley says; “Being a small nursing unit we can provide our residents with a high level of personal care where they, and their families, can get to know the nurses looking after them. All residents have a tailored care plan to ensure they receive the individual attention and support required.
“The facilities and environment at Richmond Painswick are fantastic. Many of the rooms in the nursing home have balconies overlooking the surrounding Gloucestershire countryside, or have a view of the courtyard so residents can watch the comings and goings of village life.”
A full programme of events and activities take place within the village, and with the help of trained staff all residents - including those with mobility difficulties - can participate to the full. Residents are also well catered for with a choice of nutritious and well balanced meals prepared at the Laurie Lee restaurant within the Village.
All residents have access to a superb range of facilities including a wellness spa with sauna, steam room, a fully-equipped gymnasium and treatment rooms, as well as a restaurant, café, shop and hairdressers.
The nursing home is fully integrated within the retirement village environment and part of the second stage of development at Richmond Painswick. As well as the nursing home, this phase includes new serviced suites for assisted living and the wellness spa. Phase One opened in 2006 with 18 village apartments for those who can live a more self-sufficient and independent life.
