Models from across the range including the all new Tivoli, Korando crossover, Korando Sports 1 tonne pick-up, Rexton 4x4 and Turismo MPV, will support the occasion by ferrying VIPs, competitors, media and event organisers around the Silverstone circuit throughout the three day event.

Last year’s Silver Jubilee track parade on the Sunday saw hundreds of silver cars touring the Grand Prix circuit to mark the 25-year anniversary, with 15 silver SsangYong cars at the lead.

“With over 100,000 visitors last year, the Silverstone Classic is a superb opportunity to showcase our range to this highly influential and well informed audience,” said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK.  “We and our dealers are delighted to be returning to support this exciting classic event at the home of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

“SsangYong is Korea’s oldest vehicle manufacturer, and with a history stretching back over 60 years, our heritage perfectly complements the ethos of the weekend,” he added.

"We are very pleased that SsangYong is participating again,” says Nick Wigley, Event Director.  “As one of the fastest growing brands in the UK market, it’s opportune that we can help show visitors and participants what a great range of cars this is.  The cars and their drivers delivered a fantastic service to our VIPs, competitors and guests last year.”

The Silverstone Classic - which in 2015 celebrated its 25th anniversary - is firmly established as the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival.  The event attracts more than 1,100 race entries and drew a record crowd of more than 100,000 in 2015.  The spectacular classic car celebration is staged at the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, birthplace of the FIA Formula One World Championship and home to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.  The three-day festival features the very best of historic racing covering more than eight decades of motor sport, as well as live music from iconic rock bands (topped by The Boomtown Rats, Reef and The Stranglers in 2016) and a wealth of family entertainment.  This includes a two-day classic car auction, air displays plus a showcase of classic cars. In 2015, a record number of 120 car clubs displayed more than 10,000 classic cars.
